about me
Thank you for visiting my photoblog, I hope you find something here you like. I aim to post at least 4 images a week.
With a three hour daily commute and a young daughter at home, finding time for photography is difficult. I usually find a way though, carrying my camera around with me as much as possible and keeping an eye out for opportunites. You'll see a lot of shots from Essex (where I live) and London (where I work).
I started the original version of One Way Photo in February 2007 but moved it to Shutterchance in January 2008. I brought my archived images over to this site, too, so anything you see here from before that date was originally posted on the old site. Wherever possible I back-dated them to the original dates, accompanied by the original commentary.
I prefer to keep post-processing and image editing to a minimum, although I usually find myself using levels, unsharp mask, (de)saturation, cropping, or correcting converging verticals. Sometimes I play with vignetting and overlaying layers but I dont do any cloning and as yet have never tried an HDR image. Im not a big fan of flash, so hardly ever use it; and Im definitely more interested in photographs than in cameras or computers.

My main camera is a Canon 40D. Previously (from January 2007 to June 2008) it was a Canon 400D, and before that one of its predecessors, the 300D. I also have a film SLR, the Canon 500N, which I still use occasionally. I use the following lenses:
Sigma 1020mm f/45.6
Sigma 2870mm f/2.8
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8
Sigma 100300mm f/5.66.7
Pre-2008 I was also using a Canon EFS 1855mm f/3.55.6 (DSLR kit lens), a Sigma 2470mm f/3.55.6 and a Canon EF 3580mm f/45.6 (SLR kit lens).
Also: Tripod, polariser on the 50mm prime lens, 0.4 ND grad filter and cable release.
