Still Life

A bit of an experimental shot for me, this one.

For several reasons, I've always shot JPGs (yes, I know if you're serious about photography you're supposed to shoot RAW!) — but I decided to try some RAW processing and this was a good still life to practice with because of the detailed areas and subtle shadows.

Anyway, it's not immediately obvious here because you really need to view it closely at a large size, but I was amazed (and very impressed) at the difference between the RAW and JPG versions.

So from now on I will be shooting RAW...
